Quality management
The “Optimising Böllhoff System”
Continuous improvement processes also remain of fundamental importance in a joint manage-
ment system. The “Optimising Böllhoff System” has undergone consistent further development to
ensure procedures are organised more effectively.
Besides international coordination of the allocation of roles within the system, a new concept for
the communication of improvement processes to Management has also been worked out. This
was accompanied by the further development of training methods such as the in-house seminar
“Successful leadership at Böllhoff”. By revising seminar content, the aim is to standardise the iden-
tification and pursuit of objectives at all levels of company.
Energy efficiency and protection of health
As a family firm Böllhoff takes on responsibility – not only for its workforce, but also for the environ-
ment. The continuous improvement of health & safety at the workplace thus goes hand in hand
with investment in the efficiency of resources and energy.
In 2018 new industrial washing systems went into operation at our Bielefeld site. They are used to
clean fasteners following manufacture. Besides ensuring greater energy efficiency, the washing
systems have in this context enabled Böllhoff to switch to a cleaning method free of solvents. By
dispensing with volatile organic compounds, we are reducing emission levels while protecting the
health of our workforce.
In terms of building services technology we have likewise invested in improving energy efficiency.
The increasing automation and networking of production equipment means that we are now able
to control machinery with high energy consumption levels according to demand. This ensures that
we only ever use as much energy as necessary to maintain planned production capacities.
